22019 Shelby MustangSuper Snake Marking a half-century of building high performance Ford Mustangs, Shelby American has unveiled the Fastest Super Car in its history. Based on a 2019 Mustang GT, the latest iteration carries on the tradition of matching distinctive style with impressive performance. Collectible from the day it's built, this Shelby features a new hood, rockers, spoilers, splitters, grilles, rear tail panel and rear diffuser assembly. The Shelby theme continues inside with finely appointed stitching and badges. A limited number will be built worldwide, and each will be branded with a unique CSM number that will be included in the Official Shelby Registry. Working with the in-house team at Ford Performance, Shelby American crafted a street-legal package that offers over 800+ horsepower, can hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and pull 1.2g on the skid pad. Production of the Super Snake cars will be limited to 500 units, only 400 available in the United States, 100 more worldwide all up fitted at the Shelby American facility in Las Vegas. Each will carry a Shelby serial number that's documented in the official Shelby registry as well as an under-hood plaque signed by that specific vehicle's build group. As always, the latest Super Snake features a full Shelby engineered body kit that includes the hood, grille, front splitter and side sills along with a rear spoiler, tail panel, diffuser and lower splitter. The car also has unique integrated LED fog/marker/turn-signal lamps set off with 20-inch black or polished forged alloy wheels. The cabin boasts custom gauges, door sill plates, more Anniversary logos on the seats and floor mats plus a dash plaque with the car's serial number. POISED TO STRIKE HARD: The Shelby Super Snake can be had in two levels of potency, both featuring a force-fed version of the Mustang GT's 5.0-liter V8. The standard configuration uses a Whipple Performance supercharger and makes 670 horsepower while the optional version that cranks out 800-plus ponies is fitted with a larger Whipple Supercharger. Either engine can be backed by a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. The Super Snake also includes a custom suspension with Ford/Shelby-spec springs, shocks, anti-roll bars and bushings as well as Shelby-spec performance tires. Wilwood provides the car's upgraded braking system with 6-piston front/4-piston rear calipers employ's a Shelby-designed duct cooling system. Key options for the Super Snake include a Shelby track-tuned adjustable suspension Other upgrades available are a Shelby extreme cooling system. Pricing for the standard Shelby Super Snake starts at $69,995.00 plus the cost of the Mustang GT, which brings the tab to $119,995. All cars are covered by Shelby's limited 3-year/36,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. "When Shelby American reintroduced the Super Snake in 2007, the world was awed by the 600-plus horsepower street-legal muscle car. That tradition continues with our newest Super Snake, which is better in every way. Carroll's bold spirit lives on through this amazing car," he added. Having driven each Super Snake since the reintroduction in 2007, we can attest that the Super Snake models hold up to the name and the Shelby heritage. While the 2007 was a pure brute that would smoke the tires at the crack of the throttle, the latest versions, based on Ford's S550 chassis, are more mature. They offer wonderfully balanced handling with equally matched power. To make the 2019 edition stand out, the Shelby engineers and designers combined internal and external resources to enhance all aspects of the Mustang... "The 2019 Super Snake is a tremendous performance value," said Vince LA Violette, Shelby American Vice President of Operations. "We fine-tuned our processes and materials to offer an agile, nimble and balanced car at a lower cost. A turnkey Super Snake starting at $117,995, (Inc. premium plus taxes and fees, has more base performance content than any other version in our history." A worthy Super Snake must tie together a very high level of handling and braking, obscene horsepower and torque, and unmistakable looks. Shelby accomplishes this by lowering the ride height, tightening the IRS suspension, installing larger brakes, stickier tires and by supercharging the 5.0L engine. Of course, there is a specific Shelby tune and exhaust note, too. They also enhance create the classic "Shelby" look with a slathering of body mods including the twin-nostril hood, unique over-body stripes and the downforce is improved with a splitter, rocker slats and a new rear spoiler. Where a stock Mustang GT makes 460 horsepower, the Super Snake comes at you with over 800+ ponies thanks to an intercooled supercharger. Either combination results in tire-ripping power from the tip of the throttle to the 7,000 rpm redline. "On pump gasoline and Michelin street-legal tires, a properly optioned Super Snake can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, blaze through the quarter mile in only 10.9 seconds and deliver an amazing 1.2g on the skip pad," added Patterson. "The 2019 Super Snake represents American muscle in the truest sense," exclaimed LA Violette. "It delivers full-throttle excitement at every turn, all wrapped in a chiseled, handsome body. We designed every aspect of the car to be leaner and more functional than previous models. No other car offers so much performance and styling for the price." The history of the Ford Mustang extends more than 52 years, and in that span, a the muscle car's legacy has been defined by a number of custom tunes and special edition models. As rich as that history is though, there is one model that trumps them all, largely because Shelby only built one model of it as a prototype. That model was the 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake, and to this day, it remains as the most expensive Mustang ever sold when it fetched $1.3 million at a Mecum auction back in 2013. 2019 Super Snake Specifications & Performance• 0-60 mph: 3.5 seconds• Quarter mile: 10.9 seconds• Skip pad: 1.2g• Ford Performance half shafts• Shelby extreme cooling system (includes radiator and overflow tank)• One-piece drive shaft• Short throw shifter• 3:73 gears • Ford Performance wheel studs• Shelby track tuned adjustable suspension• Shelby coil coversSuspension:• Exclusive Ford/Shelby spec dampers, sway bars, springs and bushings• 20" Forged Aluminum Wheels, black or polished• Shelby spec performance tires Brakes:• Wilwood 6 piston calipers on floating rotors (front) and 4 piston calipers (rear)• Shelby exclusive brake/bearing duct cooling system Engine:• 800+ horsepower supercharger• Engine cap set• Engine compartment plaque signed by the build team will be affixed under the hood Exterior:• Shelby Engineered body components: hood, grilles, rockers, rocker splitters, front splitter, rear spoiler, rear tail panel, rear diffuser and lower rear splitter• Shelby Exclusive Integrated LED fog/marker/turn-signal lamp assemblies Interior:o Shelby by Katzkin leather seat option upgrade• Special door sill plates• Gauge cluster with exclusive Shelby by Autometer wireless gauges• Official Shelby Serial number on a dash plaque Consumer Reviews

  • Who doesn’t love a Mustang

By SD Jones on Saturday, August 10, 2019

I was looking for something sporty that I can use as a daily driver that didn’t have as stiff a ride as my outgoing Subaru WRX. I was drawn to the mustang for several reasons, but one was the current incentives. Once I test drove the car, I just fell in love with it. Awesome classic Mustang styling both on the interior and exterior. I love the 8 inch infotainment screen with the Apple CarPlay and voice activation. I choose a package with with all season Goodyear F1 tires and upgraded rims with black inlay over chrome . Great ride quality. 5 driving modes. Wet,sport, normal, track & drag. I got a great deal on a 19 left over. 5k off sticker. 0% financing for 72 months.
  • Great Vehicle

By ZoomZoom on Sunday, July 21, 2019

The combination of features, design and performance are unbeatable at this price point. I have a 2015 and it feels well built, especially for a launch year car after 30k miles. I still get walked up to at gas stations and admiration driving it, something not many much more expensive cars get. I think the EB is an excellent application, it goes when you want it to, or gets 28 MPG on the highway if cruising, it really is the best of both. With BLIS, cooled seats and full touchscreen it has everything you would want, and the styling has an endearing quality to it even after a refresh. Seats are comfortable if a little short, and the ride is firm. I have driven a Challenger and it feels so ponderous and huge by comparison, and a Camaro feels like driving a mail slot. If you're looking for a sporty car that wont break the bank or be on the side of the road look no further!
  • That's a lot of PERFORMANCE for only $26,000 bucks

By the next pony boy on Tuesday, July 16, 2019

So out of the blue I decided to get a 2019 Mustang 2.3 coupe. I was not even considering a Mustang, but a great deal fell into my lap , and now I'm Pony to drive with a lot of curb appeal. I don't want to here how the back seats are cramped,in this segment of cars all back seats have short comings....Besides the awesome performance, I was really surprised how well the fuel economy is in this beast, I avg 22 MPG overall, that's only 2 milles less per gallon then my prevoius car that had only 170 hp vs. the Stang at 310 hp.One more surprise, a huge trunk....PONY BOY OVER AN OUT.
